Zero Hexavalent Chromium Cells
If you have a certified Zero Hex C Cell please post it here along with your proof that it is a Zero Hex C cell. If you are unaware of the HEX C issue, please read here http://hhoinfo.ning.com/forum/topics/2068750:Topic:15014 Since that thread was created many builders have worked towards eliminating the production of HEX C totally. This is the direction that the industry needs to go. Also I think the industy needs a labeling system for safety. Cells that are Certified Zero Hex C need to be labled Zero Hex-C and the ones that do produce Hex C need a warning lable of some sort. Does anyone know if the IHHOI is working on a labeling system?

This kit uses potassium carbonate for the electrolyte.. this solution makes the cell run cooler and when I gave Keith a call about the concerns of the poduction of HEX he assured me this kit produces none.. The point about sugar in personal use as opposed to industrial use is that it's a simple fix anyone and everyone can and should do. If we needed chemicals, virtually Nobody would be doing it and whatever crud is in the old electrolyte goes into the gutter, toilet, yard or neighbor's fence.

I remember back in the 80's there used to be a diet coffee that made you lose weight & gave you energy that had chromium in it. if they're still in business, we may have a buyer! LOL

Hi Everyone,
Our company had to make some serious changes some time back regarding the HC issue. We decided to get rid of the possiblility of it because the concentrations of HC can become a problem due to letting a system go too long without servicing it. I also talked to a couple of companies regarding the electrolytes and the HAZMAT concerns caused us to run far from them, as well. Althougn we are ALL for the DYI folks out there, there is a BIG difference in commercializing something to go to market. The following is a portion a letter I sent to a what many would say is a leader in this field (his name will not be mentioned)...I have yet to hear his response.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
...I hope someday our industry will understand how important it is to get away from unreliable and unsafe contruction standards. Some are, some are not aware of inherent , proven concerns associated with stainless steel, chemical electrolytes (most of which are HAZMAT concerns), Hexavalent Chromium and the danger of most HHO systems further safety concerns- fires and potentially fatal explosions. Although it is not our wish for the government to come down on the industry, it is in imminent danger of being being controlled by government due to continued oversights of some in the HHO field- some are leaders, I might add..
If the leaders of this industry and those reporting on it would truly do their due diligence, then the aforementioned material usage would have ceased before now. It has been seen by many, myself included, that making money has replaced integrity, honesty and forthrightness. This mantra will eventually do irrepairable harm to the industry at large and make it illegal for the do it yourselfer to even put a unit on his vehicle without legal consequences. More than once I have had to walk away from those, some of which regularly attend and market products at different events and on the internet, for these reasons. I escaped unharmed, but others will follow, and it is unconscienable to me that it still continues with all we know about the inherent health and safety issues at stake. I am personally asking you to make a difference, and not be one who sticks his head in the sand, like so many have for the sake of money, pure and simple.
I hope everyone who reads this will stop and think about where we are all going and what impact we can have on the future of our field of HHO.
