HODINFO is a collaborative think tank. We are an International group comprised of inventors, scientist, mechanics, tinkerers, fabricators, and out of the box thinkers. Our mission is to find innovative solutions to the problems that primarily limit the production and delivery of H2. As the world wakes up to the idea of using hydrogen it also becomes clear that immense infrastructure initiatives will be required to make it happen. If adequate solutions can be found to support HOD systems then the world can remove great and costly limitations on future applications. It is important to realize that the future is not just Hydrogen, it's Hydrogen-on-Demand.

Electrolyte is very important in Hydrogen Production. How can we improve it to increase Production , reduce Heat , reduce high Current Flow

I am using Potassium Carbonate at the moment.  KOH is too caustic and might corrode my Cell over a period of time.

In addition to using electrolysis, I have been messing around with a solution to produce hydrogen (H2) chemically, but have failed to invest time to come up with a way to regulate it as an on-demand…Continue

CC-HOD is a method for producing hydrogen at very high rates.  In this process, a catalyst is used to split water.  The hydrogen comes from water.  The fuels are water and aluminum.  The cost can be reduced by finding an alternate for aluminum.  I think I know the chemical requirements for replacing aluminum with a lower-cost material, but I need input from chemists and material science people.  If you would like to comment on this, I will disclose the catalytic chemistry to you with the hope that you might like to contribute to the quest for a way to decrease the cost for producing hydrogen.  If you are a chemist or materials scientist, please email me directly at hp@valliant.net.

Potassium Carbonate works well for me. Addition of 20% Sodiun Carbonate keeps Electrolyte clean.

Has anybody tried to make the HHO Gas more powerful with Nitros Oxide ? It is well known, that it can boost power in Racing Cars.

Add nitric Acid and anhydrous Ammonia into Electrolyte and you get Ammonium Nitrate. With Heat it converts into Nitros Oxide !

Has anybody tried to add Hydrazine Sulphate to the Electrolyte ?

Hydrazine is a corrosion inhibitor, heat stabilizer and Rocket Propellant.

Hydrazine ( N2H4 ) reacts with Hydrogen and forms Nitrogen, Water and Electrons. Electro-chemical dissociation of Hydrazine into Hydrogen and nitrogen occurs at well below 1Volt.

Hydrazine Electrolyses = Hydrogen and Nitrogen Gas

To whom may care! :)

one of the best electrolyte could be Borax or Potassium Borate. Is best chemical that may go in the engine with the vapors ( Borates  are best lubricants) and is harmless. The only drawback is that need some temperature to become real conductive. That can have a positive face: the temperature do not rise.

Was tested :  at 95 C draw 15 A at 1.75 V !

Over voltage may react with steel ( above 2.5 V per cell).

In KOH solution Borates will act as anti-foam, will ill reduce the thermal runaway and condensate vapors pH ( from "over range" alkalinity - 14+ - to pH 10 -10.5 )

yes, an electrolyte is key to proper performance, yet heat and current flow are directly proportional, so it is best to get something that is in the ball park for all round operation!
