I don't think the sodium hyd/ has anything to do with the final results at least the with the type of hydrogen. That is in the electrolysis end of it. As far as the moisture is concern you might be having temperature problems. "The closer you get to boiling the more steam you create and when you have moisture it washes out the hho. Some driers are stuffed with s/wool and it also blocks the flow of hho if packed to tight.
I used to use Sod/hyd but moved to potassium hyd/ instead. It seems to be more balanced and lasts longer. I don't use dry cells I only use wet cells with titanium from WestEdge. Our temperatures never exceed 110 degrees at maximum output. Steam and vapor have nothing to do with the type gas, it's the final product. I hope that helped a little.

mr paul...are you referring to dry hho or the steam or vapor hho ?and are we talking hi test also?..reason for asking ,using sodium hydroxide i experienced much wetter and not nearly as flammable gas than with koh...but the koh was filtered and dried through a moisture dryer and the plates were set much closer than with the naoh..worms??do they work? :)

HHO is not just HHO. There is two types of hydrogen that I know of. Para Hydrogen is like high test gas and Ortho is like regular grade gas. I'm going to get some comments on that one. Anyway SSN is Ortho and that's all I can tell you. I am doing research on it now. I'll let you know more when I know more.
Back to restrictive air flow. On a gas engine that's fine but your messing with the health of a diesel engine when you try that with them.

I have at least noticed that the mileage drop when I restrict the airflow too much.

Paul, when you mean quality of HHO what do you mean by that? Isn't HHO HHO?

I don't know if when you did your test the cell unit and reservoir were at operating temperature. If the unit is cold when you do a test it needs to be warm, so a 10 mile test is not enough. If you don't have a pwm, now is a good time to get one. What that will do is help you with city driving and mileage results. When you start up cold, the pwm will bring your unit up to operating amps without having to wait for it to warm up, so you start gaining right away. As far as restricked air flow I would highly recommend against that practice on a diesel. When you restrict on a diesel you build heat in engine and especially in the turbo if you have one. Heat will absolutely kill your turbo bearing and you will experience catastrophic failure. With a diesel there is more to the quality of hho than the quantity.

Oh, does it have an oxygen sensor? When I asked the VW dealer, they said it doesn't.

But anyway I filled up today and got better mileage again, actually better than last time with results, 56MPG (US measure), and the cell had drawn less and less amps also, so the cell didn't produce much gas or steam when I tested it before filling up.

It might be watervapour that are sucked in, just as Fozzy has claimed helps. I will now test with my simple humidifier instead and see if that can give me results.

The 95 vw-tdi has an oxygen sensor and an airflow meter. It is a common rail diesel and computer controlled.

It is a1,9 tdi.

I am not sure about the computer. I got worse mileage this time, but I had the engine running at idle much when I tested the system and I also had restricted the airflow with a tubesock(!), that I should use later on as a humidifier. And it was much short 5-10 min trips.

what size diesels are you using ?and does the tdi computer interfere ? we build them for class 8 trucks @ and i am building a smaller new one for my benz .keep up the good work
