HODINFO is a collaborative think tank/ open science initiative. We are an International group comprised of inventors, scientist, mechanics, tinkerers, fabricators, and out of the box thinkers. Just to keep you posted on what i am doing. I am currently back from overseas and decided there is no place like home. As far as TEG's go, i am now in school getting my degree in HVAC. I have not told anyone of my history hobby there but i am constantly thinking about improvements and new ideas. Right now I am looking how refrigeration systems could dramatically help this type of system.

Ehnriko that is a good attempt. I will save you a lot of pain and frustration on this experiment.

On the average peltier that you can purchase off of ebay you should be able to get between 2v and 3v with around a 100-300f delta off each plate. If you look around you will find few companies that sell specialized power generating peltiers that will put out more power. True generating peltiers will cost a lot more. Be cautious of the ones on ebay that say power generating peltier because they are no different than regular ones, only difference is they have higher heat resistant silicon seals.

Do not bother strapping them to the exhaust with out some sort of platform to distribute the heat to the peltier. The ENTIRE surface of each peltier MUST have contact heat and full contact cooling on the other side. This is one of the most important tips. If you simply try to mount a peltier on the exhaust with minimum contact (from the curve of the exhaust pipe) you will gain less then 10% of the power you can achieve if you were to disperse the heat.

Second, you can improve on the output by changing the heatsinks. Heatsinks make a huge difference. The heat sink you seem to be using are only good for open air with no forced air. You will need one where the air being forced through will give you the optimum cooling, and these include lots of fins. The thinner the fins the better. You can find excellent heat sinks here https://www.micforg.co.jp/en/index.html . It took me a while to find good heat sinks. This website has the best and they come in all shapes and sizes that will be perfect for any peltier project.

Careful with the peltiers, they will fracture easy. A tiny crack and they are done for. After mounted with heat sink and platform they will take some good punishment. Hopefully I can answer any questions you have on this subject. Enjoy and good luck.
