We've been working away here at Fuel Genie Systems. Many breakthroughs are now in production and two significant findings are coming out soon (hint: 1 lpm of hydrogen gasses produced with no load on the alternator or battery). This video was made three weeks ago. hi barry, they are 10.4 liter and turbocharged. to keep diesel usage down, if i'm not in a hurry i keep the revs down to 1800-2000 and use 25 liters per engine per hour. it's a cruiser so usually this isn't an issue. if the revs are held constant as is the load (near enough) any idea what percentage saving should be realised? this should be easier to guesstimate than a truck, bus or car as they have such varying revs and engine loading.

hi barry, yep that's pretty much what i thought, it's the only way savings could be achieved if the amount of diesel injected remains the same, so as i said in my email, the savings are down to the driver/operator. could you recommend  a unit for a caterpillar 320D? i have two in my boat and will happily fit one to each engine in a couple of months as we plan a trip of 10.000 kms over a year.

hi barry, i will happily display my ignorance here, as i have 10.4 lit, turbo, 6 cyl, 1989 vintage no electronics, cat marine diesel i would love to convert, but i can't get my head around how burning 100% instead of 70% of the injected diesel saves anything as the same amount of diesel is injected each cycle by the metering pump? surely unless you decrease the injected amount the only saving will be one by easing up on the throttle as there is more power available? this however is subjective as anything left up us humans will never see practice equal theory. also if any savings are only via human discretion would you expect a cruising boat (a constant load) to be able to be cut back on the throttle to achieve the same cruising speed? would modifying the metering system (maybe increasing bypass?) give better results? cheers
