Primary difference is that its built to automotive spec (components) with aluminium enclosure for better heat sinking for better reliability. It also charges to a higher voltage (600 vs 420). Then there is the built in fuse, and indicator LEDs.

You might want to check out the picture I posted of a prototype device that was inspired by Tuning 101.  It has a quad digital EFIE with adaptive control, MAF/MAP, IAT & CTS controls.  Time delay relays,  and a whole host of features.  The final version will be available in January 2011
