hi there, well, an ignition coil is what takes 12 volts from your alternator and makes 30,000 volts for the sparkplug. it's a kind of transformer. TV's and computer monitors use a similar kind of coil called a Flyback.
Just kick apart that old TV lying on the sidewalk and you can get one. They're black, vaguely cylindrical, and about fist-sized.
It's pretty simple to rig one of these up. All you need is a 555 chip to make pulses, and use that signal to gate an FET on the coil primary. You can see videos on youtube of people doing this. it's an easy way to get high voltage for tesla type experiments. Now if you really want to do something dangerous, attach a big capacitor in parallel across the secondary, with a diode on one side pointing to the cap., the cap should be able to handle a couple thousand volts. ground the other side of the cap. In less than a second you'll have charged it up to a very lethal voltage. very dangerous. wait, now that you've turned the thing off, the cap is still charged. how can you discharge it? maybe if you short out the two terminals of the cap with a screwdriver? no, it just exploded, showering you with boiling acid. hmmm..
but, what I'm describing with the cap and the coil is the basic premise of a Flyback Converter. I posted a link to a site that has some simple DIY plans. If done correctly, instead of killing you it will charge up your capacitor to a high voltage, which you can then..... discharge through water, maybe?
Actually, we have many more high quality components not listed on the site due to the limitations of the "web company" we're with. It's a free site right now, so we only get to list 5 products and right now we wanted to make the flow meters available to everyone. We have all high quality components from the electrics to the HHO delivery. Just give us a call or an email when you're ready. We don't add much markup either... we want to make everything affordable.
do you have a website. If you would like you can introduce your devices at the show in Oct. Go to www.greencityevents.net to sign up. Another thing to check out as well it www.ihhoi.org they are a professional trade associations for the hydrogen atlernative community. Created by professionals in the industry already. They have alot of info. and can help you build a great HHO business.
WARNING: THE DEVICES ON THIS WEBSITE CAN CAUSE PROPERTY DAMAGE AND POTENTIALLY CAUSE BODILY HARM OR EVEN DEATH. IF YOU ARE A MINOR STOP AND GET ADULT SUPERVISION. IF YOU ARE UNSURE ABOUT ANYTHING ASK SOMEONE WHO KNOWS THE ANSWER FIRST. THIS SITE IS HERE TO HELP PEOPLE BE SAFE, NOT TO ENCOURAGE RECKLESS BEHAVIOR. IF YOU DECIDE TO BUILD OR USE A DEVICE YOU SEE ON THIS WEBSITE OR ANY WEBSITE WE LINK TO YOU DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK. PLEASE TAKE ALL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS. PLEASE READ THE TERMS OF SERVICE.
